Barry Lysaght is a senior sports lawyer and Managing Director of Lysaght Sports, a boutique legal consultancy specialising in the regulation and governance of sport.
With over thirteen years’ experience at the forefront of international sport, Barry has held senior legal roles with FIFA, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF).
A specialist in football regulation and governance, he has led disciplinary, integrity and anti-doping programmes at major competitions such as the AFC Asian Cup and AFC Champions League; investigated and prosecuted hundreds of breaches of FIFA and AFC regulations; drafted regulations for new club competitions; and advised on wide-ranging governance and ethics reforms across federations and leagues, including the privatisation and restructuring of Saudi Arabian football clubs.
A qualified solicitor in Ireland, England and Wales, and a licensed FIFA Football Agent, Barry also serves on judicial bodies of the International Paralympic Committee.
