Avalon Everett is a qualified solicitor with over 15 years’ experience in corporate, regulatory, governance, and operational leadership. She graduated with an Honours Degree in Politics and Sociology (UCD), holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Law (TU Dublin), and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2010. She also holds a Professional Certificate in Governance (First Class Honours), a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Management (Institute of Public Administration), and a Certificate in AI Law, Policy and Governance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Avalon began her career in private practice specialising in corporate litigation, commercial transactions, and sports regulation before joining Horse Sport Ireland (HSI). She established and led HSI’s Legal and Governance Department, providing corporate, governance, and public affairs expertise across the organisation.
In 2025, Avalon was appointed Chief Operations Officer (COO) of HSI while continuing as General Counsel. In this dual role she oversees HSI’s operational functions including governance, legal, high performance, registrations, breeding programmes, and communications. She has successfully delivered major governance reform, strengthened compliance frameworks, and managed multi-million euro investment programmes with Sport Ireland.
Avalon has extensive experience in contract management, regulatory compliance, and risk oversight, having previously served as Chief Risk Officer. She is highly skilled at stakeholder engagement, building strong partnerships across government, industry, and international sport. She is Ireland’s key representative to the FEI and the European Equestrian Federation, contributing to working groups on sport horse policy, regulation, and strategic development.
Avalon combines legal and operational expertise with strong leadership, ensuring delivery of high-quality outcomes across national and international programmes.
